Use: Phosphomolybdic acid is used as a catalyst for the manufacture of acrylic nitrile from the oxidation of ally propylene. Phosphomolybdic acid is applied in analytical chemistry, as it serves as an extremely sensitive reagent for trivalent antimony.It is also used as a reagent in thin layer chromatography for color reactions to detect phenolic resins, hydrocarbon waxes, alkaloids and steroids.
